Choosing a pair of sunglasses that you love matters; because you’re going to want to wear them all the time. And let’s be honest, that’s not going to be when you’re lounging on the couch. So, here’s how to care for your favourite sunnies to ensure they look great while you’re out and about – whether at the beach, on the slopes, or cruising the strip.
Need a spare part to get your sunglasses looking and fitting as good as new? Choose from our wide selection below and we’ll mail them to you for free.
Giving your lenses a wipe every time you wear them is the best way to make sure you keep them looking good and performing their best. First give them a quick blow to clear any dust & dirt.
Where possible only use the microfiber cloth or pouch that came with your sunnies. Or a soft, clean cloth will do. But don’t use paper towel or tissue...these are like sandpaper to a lens.
With bad smudges you can use a specialist lens solutions or spray, but we recommend warm soapy water. Washing up liquid works great - just make sure it hasn’t got moisturiser added.
Lenses are scratch resistant, they aren’t scratch-proof. So, keeping them in their original case or pouch is by far the best way to avoid damage when you’re not wearing them.
Scratches very seldom happen while your sunnies are on your head. But, when you put them down, always try to ensure you place them upside down with the arms wide open.
If your sunglasses have them, check the screws with an optical screwdriver and ensure they’re tight. The arms should open easily, but shouldn’t unfold under their own weight.
And if none of the tips above are working, don’t throw your fav sunnies away. Simply find a pair of high quality replacement lenses from The Sunglass Fix and get that brand new feeling all over again.
