With over 300,000 lenses on offer we have a pretty complex production process. Each lens is made to order and it's done almost in real time as orders come in. In your case the care person just plain made a mistake. They usually will flag an order that is in Production but not shipped yet. While they updated your order they missed the flag so it shipped as originally ordered. Anyhow, I can see the team has shipped you what you requested to have the order changed too. Maui Jim does make some great lenses. Manytimes they use glass lenses which are great. However, they can be 3 times as heavy, and are not as safe and can easily break when dropped. We try to use the highest quality optics, Japanese polarization film which has 99.9% efficacy ratings, and durable coating on a very lightweight, flexible lens, that's easy to replace. However, we do understand that like most things people are different and have different taste. We do offer a 6 month no question return policy for this reason. Maui Jim is one of the few companies that supports repairs of their products. You most likely could get lenses from them. Please feel free to return our lenses for a refund if you prefer to pursue that option. We do strive to make a great all around lens but certainly don't want customers to be upset with their purchase. We manufacture replacement lenses for all sunglasses so people don't have to throw away perfectly good frames when their lenses are damaged. I started this business 17 years ago when I discovered most sunglass manufacture did not offer replacement parts. If they did, they made it so expensive it was crazy to repair as you could buy another pair for about the same price. I set out to make some of the highest quality lenses available and we now carry over 300,000 replacement lenses. No, they are not OEM and we state that on every page on our website. Last thing we want if for customers like yourself to think they are getting branded lenses. However, considering it is still very hard to get OEM lenses and in most cases ours are superior in quality it is a thought by 100,000 of happy cusotmers to be a great alternative to throwing them in the bin.
